GE applies the science and systems of power conversion to help drive the electric transformation of the world's energy infrastructure. Designing and delivering advanced motor, drive and control technologies, we serve specialized sectors such as marine, Naval, industry, energy and all related services. Due to continued expansion, we are looking to recruit an Engineering Assistant to support office and facilities management, and engineering documentation control activities in our Glasgow technology centre.
The role will encompass the day-to-day administration of the engineering office, site EHS activities, management of engineering parts and bills of materials, and management of facilities services and related procurement activities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Office administration including EHS activities, facilities work requests, management of contractors and ordering of consumables.
- Assist with general site administrative tasks.
- Liaise with EHS on site required communication, closure of actions and concerns where they arise.
- Support in planning and attending audits.
- Administration of training.
- Liaison with contractors and building facility to ensure all relevant compliance paperwork is available.
- Support in incident investigation.
- Creation of parts, Bills of Materials, and change requests within TeamCenter product lifecycle management software.
- Document Configuration Management.
- Provide administrative support to the Engineering team as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Relevant years of administration and facilities support experience gained within a technical office environment.
- Experience of managing office based EHS requirements.
- Good PC skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Familiarity with engineering Bills of Materials.
- Currently hold, or able to obtain UK SC level security clearance.
- Experience of Siemens TeamCenter PLM software would be an advantage.
