Designing and delivering advanced motor, drive and control technologies, we serve specialized sectors such as marine, industry, energy and all related services. We are looking for a lead electrical engineer to work within our systems engineering organisation based in Glasgow or Rugby.
You will be responsible for supporting our contract manufacturing partners during the builds of our drive, switchboard and associated distribution products. You will also be involved in the design and documentation of our equipment as part of the project team delivering new solutions.
Due to the security restrictions on this role, applications will only be accepted from UK Nationals who either hold, or are eligible for SC security clearance.
Roles and Responsibilities:- Provide electrical engineering support to contract manufacturing partners during the build of power electronics, switchboards, and electrical distribution equipment.
- Act as the main technical point of contact for electrical engineering topics related to ongoing manufacturing activities.
- Respond to technical queries, support production schedules, and help resolve manufacturing and quality issues.
- Contribute to the electrical design and documentation of equipment delivered as part of new project solutions.
- Collaborate with supplier quality teams to assess the capability of potential new suppliers.
- Work with product and project managers to set priorities, manage cost, and support manufacturing schedules.
- Contribute to test plans and support routine testing and customer factory acceptance testing.
- Create electrical designs and schematic drawings using EPlan or similar tools.
- Create and manage bills of materials within Siemens Teamcenter or similar PLM systems.
- Travel within the UK and internationally as required to support suppliers, manufacturing activities, and project delivery.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification, or relevant practical experience in an electrical engineering environment.
- Relevant experience in electrical engineering for manufacturing support, product development, or industrial equipment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, electrical technology, electrical circuit design, electrical assembly, cabling and wiring, and design for manufacture and assembly.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
- Good communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Sole UK nationality and current eligibility for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
- Experience in a project engineering or technical lead role.
- Proficiency in EPlan or similar software for electrical schematic design.
- Experience using Siemens Teamcenter or similar PLM tools for bill of materials creation and management.
- Experience in industrial equipment, electrical equipment, or defense-related engineering environments.
- Previous experience supporting UK naval engineering projects.
This role is open only to sole UK Nationals. Candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, UK Security Clearance at SC level.
