Job Description Summary In the current process of business grow, facing projects with edge technology Offshore Wind Platform (Haliade X) - the Drive Train Commissioning Technical Support Engineer will play an important role in the successful execution of projects. He/she will act as key person for the technical aspects of the commissioning project for the complete electrical drive train (HV/MV cables, GIS, transformer, converters and generator) , with an overall view from the supplier manufacturing until the offshore operations. Main activities starting with a validation of assets reception from supply chain, assuring an issues de-risking, technical preparation for onshore and offshore commissioning, aligning with design teams and project operations teams to release a fully validated commissioning test plan and finally achieving technical and EHS excellence on both site/remote support to project and site teams until the project closure. - Lead technical and operative improvements with Design teams
- Support in the documentation creation for Haliade commissioning procedures considering the most up to date Engineering test Plan, Electrical Machinery Standards & both project customization and engineering improvements. Special attention should be paid to EHS compliance.
- Support Package managers & follow-up Project execution for all technical related topics to prepare & execute operations commissioning strategy in a timely manner.
- Support the back office purchasing team by defining clear tooling and spares lists to be acquired for the ongoing projects
- To participate on the development and improvement of tooling in coordination with the Engineering department.
- Create relationship with Customer to clarify interfaces and build a partnership on the technical aspects of the commissioning.
- Technical support onsite & remotely to onshore and offshore teams and ROC teams, giving first support and managing investigation with Design Engineering teams. Manage defects and PACs. Plan support from supplier or design teams accordingly. Be accountable for technical topics during works executions.
- Continuous process improvements to optimize security and / or reduce costs; special attention should be paid to EHS compliance. Focus on Digitalization & data analytics.
- Support engineering during NPI process for commissioning.
- Follow-up test in previous manufacturing stages and prepare commissioning protocols both onshore and offshore to assure technical de-risking and perform smooth offshore commissioning. Focus on digitalization.
- Special focus in power converter and HV power drive train commissioning and technical support.
- Technical diploma in electro-mechanics, industrial engineering, with similar or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years working experience with Electrical drive trains in different industry
- English language (Spanish, French and Portuguese languages [as a plus])
- Experience in wind turbines commissioning and projects preparation. Experience with suppliers management & manufacturing lines is a plus
- Experience in wind turbines technical support and experience in leading multidisciplinary teams (design, suppliers, quality and project)
- Experience with design or commissioning power converters, PM generators, HV transformers and MV switchgear.
- Experience with tools management.
- Experience with use of quality tools ( 8D, SIPOC, FMEA)
- Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to set vision and lead team to successful outcomes
- Demonstrated system thinking: ability to assess tradeoffs, effectively assess risk, and optimize results - Ability to break-down complex issues, determine possible courses of action, and enable effective decision making
