The Sustainability AI Leader drives the end-to-end digitalization of all sustainability processes at Electrification, deploying artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and digital solutions to transform sustainability reporting, planning, and decision-making across the organization. This role is responsible for coordinating with GEV HQ and Electrification DT teams to deploy the ELEC Sustainability Long-Term Strategy (LTS) for digitalization and AI. A core deliverable of this role is achieving a 30% productivity improvement and net positive impact on cost structure by removing all administrative and non-value-added tasks from sustainability reporting through automation, AI-powered tools, and intelligent process design. The role requires a unique combination of sustainability expertise, digital leadership, and AI/data science acumen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end digitalization of sustainability processes across Electrification, defining and executing the digital transformation roadmap for sustainability reporting, planning, and performance management.
  • Deploy and operationalize the ELEC Sustainability Long-Term Strategy (LTS) for digitalization and AI, translating strategic objectives into actionable technology initiatives with clear milestones and KPIs.
  • Coordinate with GEV HQ and Electrification DT teams to ensure alignment on digital strategy, shared platforms, data standards, and AI governance across the organization.
  • Develop and deliver AI-powered systems, applications, and digital tools that create measurable value for internal and external customers, including predictive analytics, automated reporting, and decision-support platforms.
  • Drive the 30% productivity improvement target by identifying, designing, and implementing automation solutions that eliminate administrative and non-value-added tasks from sustainability reporting and compliance workflows.
  • Design and implement scalable data architectures, pipelines, and AI/ML models that underpin sustainability analytics, forecasting, and scenario planning capabilities.
  • Build and lead cross-functional partnerships with Finance, Digital, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure digital sustainability solutions are integrated into enterprise systems and business processes.
  • Establish governance frameworks, quality standards, and best practices for AI and digital sustainability tools, ensuring scalability, auditability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD preferred) in AI/Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Significant proven progressive experience in digital transformation, AI deployment, sustainability technology leadership, or related roles with demonstrated impact at enterprise scale.
  • Proven track record of developing and deploying AI/ML solutions, digital platforms, and automation tools that deliver measurable business outcomes (productivity, cost reduction, process efficiency).
  • Experience coordinating across global matrixed organizations, including HQ functions, business units, and cross-functional digital teams.
  • Familiarity with Electrification Segment and GEV structures preferred.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability metrics, sustainability reporting frameworks (EU taxonomy, CSRD, GRI, TCFD), and the ability to translate sustainability requirements into digital and AI solution specifications.
  • Very good communication and stakeholder management skills in a global, matrixed environment, with demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and drive adoption of digital solutions across diverse teams.
