As a Static Commissioning Engineer, you will be technically responsible for the preparation of Pre-commissioning specification and execution of the Pre-commissioning activity at site. The role will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. You will be part of the Static Commissioning team and will be responsible for control system installation at project site, off load testing and after sales operation support of an HVDC control system as part of a project delivery team.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Supervision of control system installation at site.
  • Lead the field cable laying and termination as per approved documents.
  • Lead the configuration, testing and troubleshooting of complex IEC61850 IED system.
  • Configuration of HMI (Human machine interface), TFR (Transient fault recorder) and other sub systems.
  • Lead the cubicle standalone, inter cubicle and field interface test as per approved documents.
  • Testing of substation hardware and software interlocks CT and PT/CVT/voltage divider primary and secondary analogue injection test.
  • Handover the HVDC control system team to the Dynamic commissioning team.
  • As built documentation markup.
  • Manage the record of spares and defective equipment.
  • Accurate reporting and record keeping on Progress and Issues.
  • Follow the departmental standard installation/testing practices and guidelines.
  • After sales operation support.
  • Support work in RTDS lab for projects.

Qualifications / Essential Requirements:

  • Degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of Control and Protection, protection relays, HV/MV/LV switchgear.
  • Knowledge of Substation Automation.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication networks such as Profibus and Ethernet based protocols.
  • Knowledge of high voltage power electronics applications e.g. HVDC or Industrial rectifier.
  • Must be able and willing to work both in Office and on sites worldwide for extended periods.
  • Strong communication skills with a fluency in English language.
