Site Manager
Lead high‑impact site operations for high‑voltage AIS and GIS projects within the Grid Solutions team.
Manage technical integrity, safety, and quality of installations, maintenance, and commissioning.
Act as primary point of contact between product units and clients, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and internal governance.
Responsibilities
- Lead field operations, allocate daily tasks, and maximise project success.
- Ensure overall quality and technical integrity of GIS and AIS installation, maintenance, and commissioning.
- Collaborate with product units and clients to resolve product or installation issues.
- Identify, report, and resolve non‑conformities, keeping projects on track.
- Foster a culture of safety, promoting best practices and compliance with regulations such as the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
- Develop accurate records and quality documentation to adhere to internal governance and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Experience leading field operations, including task delegation with subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in quality assurance processes, identifying and documenting non‑conformities.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks and safety standards, specifically the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for planning, executing, and reporting complex projects.
- Hands‑on experience in substation primary plant construction and installation, including AIS/GIS equipment.
- Formal education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (City & Guilds, ONC, HND, or equivalent) is desirable, but overall experience and achievements are prioritized.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the UK, work holidays, weekends, overtime, and spend time away from home for training and field assignments.
