Senior Control Automation System Engineer in Creswell

Systems Engineering is a cross-functional technical discipline that focuses on an approach, mindset, and process. The discipline involves implementing a solid process for designing, creating, and optimising systems, which includes identifying and quantifying system requirements, creating alternative system design concepts, conducting design trade-off studies, selecting and implementing the best designs, and ensuring that the design is properly integrated and executed. This process spans from concept through production to operation.

The role influences approaches, projects, and programmes within the functional area or affected organisational unit and impacts the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the team. It has a significant influence on priorities and is guided by professional practices and policies shaped by the role itself. The role possesses moderate autonomy and requires a high degree of operational judgement.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, evaluate, implement, and manage engineering solutions for product and control system technology requirements.
• Apply control theory and mathematical modelling to design and control systems with desired behaviour, including operability, setting limits, cycle optimisation, control logic, control-related software, sensors, hardware and software algorithms, and feedback for controlling the performance of devices, subsystems, and systems.
• Develop expertise in the discipline and serve as a resource for best practices/quality.
• Contribute to strategy and policy development and ensure implementation within the area of responsibility.
• Typically a direct supervisor of professionals or an indirect supervisor of a professional department.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of best practices and the integration of the area into other areas; have a solid understanding of competition and factors that distinguish the company in the market.
• Use judgement to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in operations/product management, manufacturing, technology, or construction.
• Consider existing solutions from a new perspective and use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
• Serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues and may lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.
• Explain difficult or confidential information and work to build consensus.
• Develop persuasion skills necessary to influence others on topics within the field.

Basic Qualifications

This role requires extensive experience. The knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
