Job Description Summary

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and experience from a similar industrial industry including electronics, mechanical and manufacturing disciplines.
  • Understand build test philosophies.
  • Investigate production failures and propose new solutions.
  • Support PCB and Product build.
  • Experience in PCB/Product fault finding to component level and supply root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of the following areas of electronic hardware design: Digital/microprocessor, Memories, DSP/Microcontrollers, Analogue, Power supply.
  • Ability to communicate with Hardware Engineers within the R&D Hardware service Team and other engineering departments such as software and applications.
  • Provide expertise to ensure the timely resolution of Production’s related issues occurring on the existing product ranges.
  • Adherence to documented policies and procedures to uphold quality of designs.
  • PCB Analysis of failed production PCB’s.
  • Problem Solving techniques.
  • Lean knowledge.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in relevant discipline with 2 years+ of experience preferred.
  • HND in Electronics with approved apprenticeship and 3 years of experience minimum.
  • Computer literate.
  • Experience in the use of design/simulation tools.
  • Relevant experience in fault finding and root cause analysis, lead investigations and complete full implementation to the timescales provided by the business.
  • Detailed knowledge of existing and future test philosophies.
  • Proven high level experience and knowledge of electronic hardware, ability to understand circuit designs, propose support solutions and diagnose to component level.
