Responsible for designing, developing and testing Embedded Software (Firmware), platforms and systems that control and run on devices tailored to the needs of the hardware. This includes directly controlling the real-time functions of physical devices such as motors, alternators, engines, valves, fans, and other products.

Typically requires a deep understanding of the characteristics of the physical device being controlled, the real-time functions it is expected to perform, and the ability to design, develop, implement, and test the logic and software required to realise this functionality. Usually tailored for products and services across various P&Ls.

Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness, etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develops product build and release procedures.
  • Works independently and contributes to the immediate team or other teams across businesses to implement end-to-end build and release procedures for a single release or multiple releases of embedded software.
  • Requires a people leader with the ability to hire and develop talent, including direct people management responsibility.
  • Utilises in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of competition and differentiating factors in the market.
  • Uses judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address complicated manufacturing processes.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.
  • Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications:

For roles outside of the USA: Advanced experience in Engineering/Technology & Embedded SW Build and Release. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

For roles in the USA: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
