The energy transition cannot happen without access to capital. Through our development, investment, financing and asset management activities, GE Vernova’s Financial Services business is accelerating a pipeline of bankable wind, power, electrification and other energy transition projects required to simultaneously decarbonize and electrify the world with state-of-the-art technology from GE Vernova.
The Capital Markets team is part of GE Vernova’s Financial Services business. The focus of the Capital Markets team is to enable sales of GE Vernova equipment and services by facilitating third party financing for customers. The team works closely with the GE Vernova businesses and also with a large number of Export Credit Agencies (ECAs), International and Regional Banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and other providers of capital.
As an AVP in the Capital Markets team, you will support the management of relationships with a number of our key ECA/DFI partnerships in the region and help execute ECA backed transactions in the region. You will also develop relationships with various GE Vernova businesses to understand their sales strategy and their customers' need for financing on projects. You will work closely with the GE Vernova businesses and their customers to explore customer financing options where facilitating financing for the customer makes GE Vernova more competitive.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support the financial analysis of prospects for underlying economics and feasibility.
- Analyze customer operations and finances to determine creditworthiness.
- Support the management of ECA/DFI relationships on a day-to-day basis.
- Maintain a good network of transactional contacts at those institutions.
- Support the Vice President (VP)s or Senior Vice President (SVP)s in the development of strategic programs and partnerships in collaboration with the broader Capital Markets leadership team with local relevant ECAs and Governments to promote GE Vernova exports.
- Support the VP/SVP in ECA/DFI Origination: help coordinate financing proposals and support presentation of ECA solutions to customers; screen business order plans for potential ECA/DFI financing opportunities.
- Lead project-related meetings between buyer/borrower, banks, ECAs, DFIs as commercial opportunities develop.
- Analyze and structure equipment and services purchase and sale agreements (including EPC scope) to optimize sourcing and meet ECA/DFI eligibility requirements.
- Drive project financial closure through active coordination between all parties, including Borrower, Lender, ECA, DFI, advisors and ensure delivery of GE Vernova’s conditions precedent requirements in good time to close transactions.
- Lead workstreams in the execution phase of transactions with the preparation and delivery of disbursement/reimbursement documentation in support of the GE Vernova export contracts.
- Monitor and coordinate portfolio transactions to ensure compliance with GE Vernova’s obligations.
- Lead the engagement of ECAs and DFIs in all deal phases: Policy and Deal Advocacy; Origination; Application; Approval; Certification; Documentation; and Disbursement.
- Detailed financial modeling of project finance cashflows and credit analysis of customer creditworthiness.
- Support internal reporting requirements.
Basic Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, or higher, in a numerate subject (e.g. mathematics, engineering, finance, economics); CFA or MBA would be an advantage but not essential.
- Strong financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and valuation skills; Experience preparing financial information, interpreting financial performance, and assessing risk exposure.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Preferred 4+ years’ financial services experience in ECA/DFI Finance, Deal Structuring or related experience.
- Basic understanding of GE Vernova businesses, product line and sourcing/manufacturing strategy.
- Fluent in English; French, German or other European language skills a plus; Emerging market experience a plus.
- Based in London, with a UK work permit.
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
