This is a Product Project Management role focused on managing AIS and PQP Trading Projects within the PT Product business at GE Grid Solutions in Stafford. Junior PM, Assistant PM, or persons transitioning into Project Management for the first time or recently, would be considered for this role.
Main Responsibilities:
- Management of AIS & PQP Trading Projects within the Power Transmission Product Business.
- Commercial execution shall be supported by UK PM Leader and Lead Project Managers.
- Activities include:
- Receipt of Purchase Order, and internal booking from Centre of Excellence.
- Checking the EAS Price, Cost and Margins.
- Placing Sub-Contract Orders with our internal supplying units.
- Placing internal SERVICE MAX works order on our internal suppliers for Supervision of Installation, Commissioning and Final Settings and Alignment Checks.
- Placing Sub-Contract Order with our external suppliers, for Insulating Gas, Interlocks and other local scope as required.
- Carrying out weekly progress activities, including update to the billing and sales forecast.
- Passing Drawings and Contract document from the Supplying Unit to the Customer, to reach design approval.
- Management of Customer and Supplier interactions to reach the FAT and deliver the product to site.
- Working with our customs support administrator, to clear the goods on entry to the UK.
- Completing the billing invoices on all milestones as required by the Contract.
- Close out when all contractual obligations are complete, with ongoing oversight to end of Warranty.
Further Duties (subject to candidates’ experience and competency):
- Preparation of Project Plan.
- Contract analysis, clause by clause.
- Contract Management and resolving of disputes during each phase of the project.
- Following Customer specific software and portals for document controls, communication and TQs, commercial management etc.
- Conduct quarterly, formal Project Review Meetings, covering Risk and Opportunity and Budget Deviations.
- Development and implementation of appropriate mitigations and update PPM with revisions to the Project Commercial Plan.
- Preservation of GEs rights and entitlements as provided in the Contract.
- Ensure proper notices are given in line with contract requirements.
- Management of claims to/from customers and other third parties and partners.
- Support the re-exportation of Materials to be returned to factory, in case of repairs necessary during warranty support.
- Develop Technical capabilities and Product knowledge, to support the Customers and Supplying units.
- Develop knowledge in UK CDM Regulations, including Hazards and Risk management.
- Product Design and Installation, learn the importance of Risk and Method Statements (RAMS) for the Installation of the Equipment at Site, and complete Project Safety Plans as required.
General Qualifications:
- A Levels, BTech Level 2 or 3, or equivalent qualifications or experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant subject would be advantageous.
- Experience in Project Management or Engineering within Power Transmission or allied business sector.
- Experience working and dealing with UK Customers.
- Understanding of commercial operations – such as Business Studies qualification.
- Effective Communicator who can influence outcomes.
- Good Time Management, Analytical and concise by nature.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
