As a Network & Cybersecurity Senior Engineering Manager, you will be leading the Engineering team and working across two engineering disciplines. You will support the design and implementation of Network & Cybersecurity by analysing customer requirements, assessing the necessary deviation from standard solutions, and providing technical solutions that meet project delivery and Tender objectives.

This includes working with the Global Network & Cybersecurity Leader on the following:

  • Developing organizational talent
  • Engineering process management
  • Providing technical guidance
  • Driving consistent design practices and common global processes for projects

Roles and Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for leading a team that designs, develops, configures, and verifies HVDC Control & Protection Network & Cybersecurity, driving consistent design practices and common global processes for project implementation. You will also provide technical solutions that meet project and Tender objectives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overall design of secure networks and Communication Architectures of the HVDC Control System from concept to commissioning based on IEC 62443-3-3 principles.
  • Acting as the point of contact for all matters related to cybersecurity and networking in a project environment.
  • Evaluating solutions from various 3rd party suppliers interfacing with the control system.
  • Supporting Tendering teams during the bidding process for cybersecurity and networking related requirements.
  • Ensuring adherence to Secure Deployment Guides for the HVDC Control System and 3rd party system interfaces.
  • Following Security Assurance Plans by all relevant project stakeholders during the complete project duration.
  • Defining IP address strategies for the complete control system.
  • Performing hardening in a substation environment.
  • Ensuring project plans contain necessary activities and studies to meet customer requirements.
  • Recruiting, coaching, and developing organizational talent.
  • Providing direction and guidance to exempt specialists and supervisory staff.
  • Managing engineering resources, workload, schedule, and project milestones.
  • Playing a key role in engineering design reviews and technical leadership.
  • Working closely with internal and external customers to optimise engineering specifications.
  • Building strategic partnerships to further departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Developing and executing organizational and operational policies.
  • Defining the project work breakdown structure (WBS), resources, and skill levels required to meet delivery timescales.

Qualifications / Essential Requirements:

  • Degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering or related field.
  • Strong background in Networking & Cybersecurity fields.
  • Proven experience implementing cybersecurity networks.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication networks such as IEC61850 and Ethernet based protocols.
  • Knowledge of communication networks Security/Hardening and Cybersecurity best practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of commonly used Layer 2 & 3 protocols such as IPv4, OSPF, LACP, DMZ, VPN/DMS/ADMS/DNP, IEC, Modbus.
  • Proven technical leadership in a complex system engineering development environment.
  • Preferably experience in control and protection system design.
  • Mandatory to have an industrial background.
