As a Data Analyst Intern reporting to the Chief Engineer’s Office, you will play a crucial role in analysing data to support competency development within the Engineering and Technology function at Grid Solutions. Your primary responsibilities will include using tools like Excel, Python, and Tableau to gather, analyse, and visualise data, helping the organisation identify skill gaps and improve engineering performance. Additionally, you will assist in creating reports and presentations to communicate insights to leadership teams, ensuring data-driven decisions are aligned with strategic goals. This internship offers hands-on experience in data analytics within an engineering context, fostering your skills in data management, problem-solving, and reporting while contributing to key organisational objectives.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Managing in-house Competency Assessment tools, including creating/modifying competency models, managing user accounts and providing user support to employees and their people leaders.
  • Assist in analysing engineering competency data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Excel, Python, Tableau, and PowerPoint to visualise key metrics and performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and reports for senior leadership to communicate findings and recommendations.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel, Python, and Tableau.
  • Solid understanding of data analysis concepts and techniques.
  • Experience with PowerPoint for creating impactful presentations.
