We are looking for an ICOT Cyber Security Engineer to support the design, implementation, validation, and testing of network and security infrastructure across major UK and global critical infrastructure, marine, and naval projects. The role focuses on protecting industrial and offshore systems from current and emerging cyber threats, with responsibilities spanning industrial security standards (including ISA/IEC 62443, NIST, Marine E27, and NCSC CAF) and hands-on network and security engineering activities such as configuring and hardening switches and firewalls.

Main Responsibilities
- Design, build, and integrate industrial network and security systems in line with defined system architectures and network IP schedules.
- Maintain accurate asset inventory and configuration records as part of system design, implementation, and cybersecurity assurance reviews.
- Implement project-specific system and security architecture models tailored to individual customer and operational requirements.
- Configure, harden, and secure complex industrial network environments, including implementing redundancy and high-availability solutions to minimise downtime of critical systems.
- Support compliance with relevant industrial cybersecurity standards and frameworks, including ISA/IEC 62443, NIST, Marine E27, and NCSC CAF.
- Monitor and stay current with emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices to continuously improve the organisation's OT security posture.
- Provide cybersecurity guidance, risk-based advice, and technical support to engineering, project, and delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Actively engage in continuous professional development, including working towards ISA/IEC 62443 accreditation.
Must-have Requirements
- Degree-level qualification in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or related discipline, OR equivalent practical experience.
- Early-career experience or practical exposure within Operational Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), or industrial network environments, gained through graduate roles, placements, or junior engineering positions.
- Foundation-level hands-on experience configuring and supporting industrial network components, such as managed switches and firewalls, within segmented architectures.
- Awareness of OT / ICS environments (e.g., PLC, SCADA, DCS, HMI systems) and understanding of how they differ from enterprise IT systems.
- Understanding of core cybersecurity principles as applied to industrial or critical infrastructure environments, including network segmentation and system hardening.
- Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity standards such as ISA/IEC 62443, NIST, or equivalent frameworks (academic or practical exposure).
- Strong analytical mindset and motivation to develop a career in OT cybersecurity.
