Manufacture of large transformers to meet customer/production plans, ensuring assembly, inspection and test is carried out using Lean methodology. Working to specifications and instructions, using the correct tools and methods. Meeting exacting standards expected by the customer.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Environment / Health / Safety: Compliance with EHS adherence to safe working operating procedures from the perspective of their own safety and safety of their work colleagues.
- Product on time delivery: Responsible for the build of the product to the manufacturing plan.
- Product Quality: Responsible for the build quality of the product inline with the standard operating instructions. May be required to assist in the training of others.
- Product cost: Responsible for efficient manufacture of the product inline with the defined process.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement where instructed, process improvement actions that will result in sustainable productivity improvements without impairing product quality or delivery performance or safety. Make proposals that you feel will deliver improvements and savings in line with GE processes and policies using the Employee Ideas Scheme.
- Maintenance: Working to APS practices follow routine maintenance schedules and cleaning plans for workstations, jigs and fixtures. Highlight any issues to the Production Support Engineer/Coordinator.
