GE Vernova’s Power Conversion is seeking a committed and professional individual with a relevant degree in Electrical, Electronics or Industrial Control Systems Engineering (or equivalent), or significant relevant experience gained in a professional engineering environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining documentation throughout the project cycle.
  • Working with the Drawing Office to produce equipment drawings, electrical wiring diagrams, cable interconnection drawings, and interface schedules.
  • Performing the functional design of HMI, PLC Architecture, Networks, and Communications Interfaces using standard hardware and software components.
  • Writing PLC software using IEC 61131-3 programming languages e.g., Ladder diagram (LD), Function block diagram (FBD), Structured text (ST), Instruction list (IL), and Sequential function chart (SFC).
  • Designing, tagging, and testing control system mimics using HMI SCADA packages.
  • Planning and progressing design and test activities to meet the required delivery dates.
  • Managing change during the project lifecycle using appropriate change management processes.
  • Performing factory testing of control systems leading to a formal Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) with customer and classification society.
  • Supporting the commissioning and sea-trials phase of the project; normally from the office but with the possibility of visiting the vessel.
  • Providing technical advice and assistance to the sales, commissioning, and service teams.

Previous experience of designing and integrating control systems is essential.
