Who will you be working with?
Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company, is looking for a skilled Graduate Engineer to join our dynamic team. We design, manufacture, and test industrial turbochargers for the power generation, marine, and rail traction industries.
Location: LN5 7FD, Lincoln
Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00am to 16:30pm and 08:00am to 15:30pm on Friday
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract, Full-Time
How will you make a difference?
There will be a strong interaction with other teams beyond Engineering, and you will be able to see the life cycle of newly developed products, from conceptual design, analysis of components, manufacturing, and applications, through to customer support.
What will your typical day look like?
- You will be supporting the development of engineering solutions within a variety of different departments such as Mechanical Design, Analytics, Aerodynamics, Mechanical Integrity, Testing, and Product Development.
- Develop your product knowledge and product familiarisation via the production area.
- Component and assembly design.
- Finite Element Analysis and life assessment of turbocharger components.
- Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis and aerodynamic performance of turbocharger components.
- Development and production testing.
- Turbocharger-Engine application matching.
What do we want to know about you?
- Ideally, you will hold at least a 2.1 Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Maths, or Physics.
- A strong interest in Mechanical Engineering.
- Good understanding of engineering fundamentals and practical skills.
- Demonstrable skills with a CAD package.
- Experience with FEA and/or CDF tools.
- Basic knowledge of turbomachinery operation and design would be advantageous.
