A dynamic and expanding company, GE Services Limited is a Utility Contractor in the UK working for SSE on their LV and 11kV network in the Wessex area. We are looking for two experienced Site Supervisors for the works in the Hampshire area.
Job Purpose
To oversee all site activities, to ensure our works meet the Operational and HSEQ requirements of GE Services; our Client; the New Roads and Street Works Act and the Local Authority/Highway Authorities. Support the Project Managers in ensuring works are completed on time and to the standards and quality set by the business and our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the quality of the works.
- Engagement with Local and Highway Authorities in relation to our programme of works.
- Monitor street works permits, negotiate early starts and ensure the timely resolution of defects.
- Ensure that GE Services’ OHSEQ requirements are being communicated and adhered to at all times on site.
- Ensuring frontline operational works are compliant with the organisation Management System.
- Facilitating the Induction training of all new personnel to the contract.
- Identifying areas where competency and training may need to be refreshed or conducted.
- The day-to-day completion and working to Risk Assessment & Method Statement and the effectiveness of the identified controls.
- Actively supporting the communication between the top management and the organisation.
- Conducting Tool Box Talks, Briefings, and other forms of communication.
- Understanding the organisations commitment to maintaining 9001:2015, 14001:2015, 45001:2018 standards.
- Supporting the organisations Supply Chain & Subcontractors and ensuring they are fully integrated into the GE Services Ltd Management System.
- Providing Incident Investigation support and compliance with the client organisation requirements.
- Understanding the NRSWA 1991 Highways Activities and ensuring compliance with the Safety at Street Works and Road Works - A Code of Practice (Red Book).
- Ensuring GE services Ltd comply with the CDM Regulations 2015.
- General administrative duties, e.g., filing, copying, record keeping etc.
Essential Skills:
- LV and HV experience is essential.
- Ideally SSE accredited.
- Good awareness of planning network diversions and reinforcement schemes.
- Previous experience in Supervising Civil works, particularly within the electricity industry.
- Understanding of Noticing conditions & LA Highways working practices.
- Experience of managing teams and effectively managing performance.
- Full NRSWA Supervisor accreditation.
- Able to provide accurate and timely reports to the Company as requested.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Relationship building with construction teams, management, and clients.
- Good PC skills to include MS Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
- Excellent diligence with a focus on accuracy.
- Full, clean UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Flexible and enthusiastic attitude.
Salary: £52,000 per annum dependent on experience.
