Here at Dowty (a GE Aerospace company) we have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Sourcing Fulfilment Manager, to join our team based at our cutting edge manufacturing site in Brockworth, near Gloucester. Reporting to our Senior Material Delivery Leader, this role is the first point of escalation for our suppliers' order fulfillment. Primarily using data analysis of our suppliers' commitments to identify and mitigate immediate risk to our operation, working alongside planning and materials fulfilment, you will ensure we can meet our production plan. You will achieve this by processing, rationalising and presenting data from multiple sources to provide clear messaging to the business.
You will own the immediate 13 week material window to ensure manufacturing Clear to Build (CTB) is not impacted by supplier shortages. Working cross functionally with the Sourcing, Materials and Operations leaders this role will focus on giving clear material commitments to meet planned business output. In addition, the Sourcing Fulfilment Manager will be the first point of escalation for the Sourcing Fulfilment team if there are supply issues and will support and own short-term recovery plans as well as long-term strategic projects, in conjunction with the purchasing Commodity Managers, to stabilise the supply chain by ensuring a more consistent delivery performance across the global suppliers in our portfolio.
Roles and Responsibilities
- You will own the immediate 13 week material window to ensure manufacturing Clear to Build (CTB) is not impacted by supplier shortages.
- Working cross functionally with the Sourcing, Materials and Operations leaders this role will focus on giving clear material commitments to meet planned business output.
- Analyse and report on multiple suppliers' commitments and performance inline with the business standard operating rhythm identifying upcoming material shortages.
- Proactively highlight supplier delivery issues that could impact business goals and work collaboratively across the business to resolve/mitigate both tactical and strategic risks.
- Drive CTB (Clear to Build) to achieve site Goals and objectives through Sourcing Material Coverage Analysis (MCA).
- Provide support to the Sourcing Fulfilment Specialists if there are supply issues, assisting with short-term recovery plans as well as owning long-term strategic projects.
- Manage and resolve escalations from within the business whilst providing timely, clear updates to internal stakeholders.
- Able to escalate issues to Material Delivery Lead concisely with current status and required actions in mind.
- Liaise with business leadership for 13 week MHV (Material Health View), being able to decipher shortages and those with the highest impact to the business.
- Liaise with Material Delivery Leader to agree suppliers to be escalated to Supplier Quality and Sourcing Leadership.
- Liaise with Commodity Managers to support potential strategic supplier transitions, supplier exits or entry into new suppliers for Delivery, Quality and Cost benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated relevant experience in a Sourcing / Fulfilment role within aviation or a similar industry.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and negotiation skills and be confident presenting to all levels.
- Strong demonstrated ability to process, analyse and present data in multiple formats.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and be able to influence others and lead small project teams.
- Ability to identify and implement best practices, procedures and systems.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Time Management skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment whilst receiving multiple and competing priorities.
- Strong customer mindset.
Desired Characteristics
- Additional experience within Quality and/or Operations.
- Knowledge of Syteline and/or Oracle ERP.
