Job Description Summary

The Bristol Robotics Services (BRS) Site Quality Leader will be responsible for developing and executing a zero defect quality strategy through robust SQA, Cross functional Quality Investigations, RCCA, Interfacing with Customers internal and external to GE, and grow the quality organization at BRS.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality assurance strategies to ensure software and hardware products meet industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Establish and maintain quality management systems (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001, AS9100 or other relevant standards for robotics and software development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product development, and operations) to integrate quality processes into the development lifecycle with risk management framework such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), DFMEA (Design FMEA), or PFMEA (Process FMEA)
  • Support software testing and validation to identify defects, ensure functionality, and verify compliance with safety and performance requirements.
  • Develop, Monitor and analyze quality KPI (Key Performance Indicators) to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Lead internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Grow, Train and mentor teams on quality standards, best practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues but internal and customer interfacing, and prevent recurrence through tools such as 3X5 Why, 8D, APPS (AT Point Problem Solving).
  • Ensure supplier quality management by evaluating vendor performance and conducting supplier audits.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to proactively adapt quality processes for emerging technologies in robotics and software.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in quality management, preferably in robotics, software development, or high-tech industries.
  • Proven track record of implementing and managing Quality Management Systems (QMS), such as ISO 9001 or similar standards.
  • Experience with software testing methodologies, validation processes, and defect tracking tools.
  • Familiarity with robotics systems, embedded software, and hardware integration is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with Customers, cross-functional teams, and influence stakeholders

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance tools and techniques, such as Six Sigma, Lean, or Kaizen.
  • Proficiency in software testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JIRA, TestRail) and defect tracking systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
  • Ability to manage supplier quality and conduct supplier audits effectively.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements for robotics and software (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 10218) as well as FAA FAR Part 21, FAA, / EASA / UKCAA part 145.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment and adapt to evolving technologies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
