Job Description Summary

At Dowty (a GE Aerospace company) we are recruiting for a Lean Leader who will be responsible for driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives using GE Aerospace\’s proprietary FLIGHT DECK lean operating model.

In this opportunity you\’ll apply the Lean principles to optimize processes, enhance safety, improve quality, ensure on-time delivery, and reduce costs (SQDC). As the Lean Leader you\’ll report into the Dowty Global Flight Deck Leader and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable improvements, foster a culture of problem-solving and support effective implementation of strategic and operational business plans.

\”Flight Deck\” at GE Aerospace refers to a proprietary lean operating model designed to drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and alignment with the company\’s priorities of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). It incorporates elements of Lean methodologies such as Kaizen, Kata, Hoshin Kanri, and Standard Work, tailored specifically to the Dowty / GE Aerospace needs and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall Lean leadership and coaching; partner with business leadership to develop lean strategy & priorities
  • Lead as an independent coach and mentor the application of Flight Deck methodologies to drive improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), with safety as the top priority
  • Coach, drive and lead Lean behaviors, principles, and tools across operational or functional area. Drive cultural transformation resulting in step-change in operational business metrics
  • Facilitate Kaizen events, and training sessions to build Flight Deck capabilities across the business
  • Coach and facilitate complex business problem in line with GE Aerospace FLLIGHT DECK principles
  • Champion change across the organization to foster the growth in Lean culture
  • Analyze processes to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions aligned with lean principles
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by engaging employees at all levels and encouraging problem-solving behaviors
  • Ensure sustainability of improvements through standard work, documentation, and regular audits
  • Act as a change agent to challenge the status quo and inspire innovation within the Flight Deck framework.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor\’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Experience in Process Improvement
  • Demonstrated solid performance, leadership, and experience in lean
  • Proven experience in influencing, leading teams and driving change results orientation
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated facilitation experience.
