Job Description
We are Dowty Propellers (a GE Aerospace company) and we are hiring. At a time of high demand in NPI, our Supply Chain team are interested in hearing from skilled and motivated direct sourcing specialists to join our dynamic team, at our state-of-the-are propeller manufacturing site in Brockworth, just outside Gloucester to assist in industrialisation projects.
As a sourcing specialist in the NPI team you'll have responsibility for seeking the best commercial results in highly changeable conditions meaning you will have a high level of agility, resilience to change and can deal with ambiguity. An excellent understanding of ERP systems, demand management, P2P process is needed and the candidate must be willing to having a mix of transactional, operational and strategic procurement activities as part of the day job. You'll achieve the best total cost ownership and contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction. You'll have ownership over the quality of your own work and the work of others on the team. You'll be focused on the execution of standard enabling activities/provision of advice subject to policy and work routines within an enabling discipline.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Supporting the Commodity Manager to define and seek approval for supplier strategies including onboarding, management and optimization of approved suppliers.
- Lead negotiations and allocate priorities to specific suppliers. Negotiate terms and conditions, seek business approval, raise appropriate purchase documents and manage the supplier relationship through to delivery where appropriate.
- Supplier and stakeholder relationship management including using aspects of project management and expediting skills to make sure the suppliers and internal partners are keeping to their commitments, and any changes or disputes are managed effectively.
- Broadening knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in own discipline to execute functional policy/strategy; still developing functional knowledge and skills.
- Understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Resolves issues in situations that require good knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
- Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined policy/parameters.
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills.
- For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE.
- Ability to explain and convey technical information to others.
Required Qualifications
- This role requires advanced experience in the Sourcing & Commodity Management.
- Experience gained with engineering manufacturing is essential.
- Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
