The EHS Engineer will develop practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In this role, you will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope and have the freedom and ability to affect both short- and long-term business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) issues, ensuring compliance on site safety matters.
  • GE EHS Management system element ownership and support - Key knowledge and support for EHS Framework functions.
  • Conduct regular inspections and track findings through to closure.
  • Provide direct internal support and leadership of EHS to your assigned business operation(s).
  • Develop, provide and conduct training and educational programs to reinforce EHS awareness.
  • Undertake and lead accident investigations, ensuring cases are logged and corrective actions are managed.
  • Support business needs out of hours, conduct forums and follow up on concerns.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in an Environmental &/or Health & Safety role.
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of environmental and Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Strong IT and data analysis skills.
  • Proven experience and background with EHS management system programs.

  • Strong team player and ability to interact/communicate well with a wide variety of functional groups within GE.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with engaging and working closely with senior leadership team members.
