At GE HealthCare, we’re looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic team, supporting Magnet Resonance Imaging (MRI) and X-Ray (XR) systems across London and surrounding areas. Responsibilities

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM), inspections, repairs, and system upgrades on MRI and XR equipment.
  • Deliver advanced fault finding and troubleshooting across electrical, electronic, mechanical, software, and network-related issues.
  • Support equipment installations, de-installations, and lifecycle upgrade projects.
  • Manage service activities to maximise customer uptime and equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and administrative records in line with company requirements.
  • Manage spare parts usage and inventory to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional and responsive service.
  • Ensure compliance with all company quality, regulatory, and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Participate in the on-call service rota and provide out-of-hours support when required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and share technical knowledge within the wider engineering team.
  • Identify opportunities to support contract renewals, system upgrades, and service growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineers, service centre teams, and account managers to deliver exceptional service.
  • Manage tools, test equipment, and travel logistics effectively.
  • Travel throughout the region as required to support customer and business needs.

What You’ll Bring

  • HNC or equivalent qualification in engineering or a relevant technical field.
  • Field service experience, ideally with medical imaging systems but full training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude.
  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the UK at the time of application.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
  • Experience connecting to systems remotely using a secure connectivity platform.
  • Competence with software loading, virtual machines, and general IT troubleshooting.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Fluent in English.

Desirable Skills

  • Broader experience with other medical imaging modalities.
  • Knowledge of DICOM and IT network troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with a Customer Relationship Management system.
  • Project management experience.
