In this role, you can join the PDx business of GE HealthCare. We are looking for you if you have experience working within a Nuclear environment and are familiar with Nuclear Regulators (ONR) legislation. Having experience in working with Radioactive Waste Management and the use of Radioactive Materials would be desirable.

Your role would be to operate the facility’s transport system to ensure the safe and efficient movement of nuclear waste throughout the site in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Radiopharmacy Technologists in the production and quality control of radioactive materials by preparing solutions, chemical compounds, and/or other items needed for production or clean up activities.
  • Perform tasks to help maintain a sterile environment such as wiping down surfaces, collecting waste, or opening and closing containers.
  • Handle materials with care to prevent loss or injury; keep all areas clean and tidy.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Use proper body mechanics techniques when transporting equipment and wastes.
  • Adhere to safety standards and wear personal protective clothing as required.
  • Contribute to team meetings by sharing ideas for improving productivity and safety.
  • Be available for training sessions and participate in ongoing education programs.
  • Ensure timely completion of scheduled activities and adherence to departmental policies.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in a hospital, clinic, or laboratory setting preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of radiation safety requirements and regulations.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of basic chemistry and radiation physics helpful.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to properly lift and move equipment and materials.
