We are seeking a hands-on and analytically strong GMS Budget Lead to join the PDx Global Medical Services (GMS) Strategy & Operations team.

Responsibilities

  • As the GMS Budget Lead, you will be responsible for providing advanced financial, analytical and operational support to the GMS organization.
  • This role partners closely with GMS leadership, Finance, and Operations to:
  • Manage key operational finance processes (including PO management and milestone payment tracking).
  • Support the set-up and ongoing management of a PowerBI PDx report build to PDx standards for monthly reporting (e.g. dashboards, reporting, GMS performance KPI and metrics tracking).
  • Ensure accurate, timely visibility of cost, productivity and project performance.
  • Support planning cycles (budget, forecasting), month-end closing, and operational reviews.
  • Drive standardization, process discipline and continuous improvement across GMS financial and operational routines.

This is an experienced, hands-on role, combining strong financial analysis capability with process thinking, tool implementation, and stakeholder management. It is a supervisory role that provides direct or indirect leadership for overall projects operations.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Strategy and Planning: Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting
  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual financial cycles for GMS (actuals, forecasts, budget), in close collaboration with Finance, budget holders and GMS leaders.
  • Support FP&A and Finance Transformation in the set-up and ongoing maintenance of Power BI reports built to PDx standards for monthly reporting, including collection and maintenance of GMS KPIs and metrics (e.g., GMS Performance Scorecard).
  • Support preparation of materials for operating reviews, business updates and leadership presentations, ensuring accurate and timely visibility of cost, productivity and project performance.
  • Support the design, set-up and tracking of milestone payments for GMS projects and customer contracts, ensuring schedules are clearly defined, aligned with contractual and delivery milestones, and reflected in financial plans and reports.
  • Support month-end closing routines, including accrual oversight, tracking and follow-up on outstanding items as required to ensure data quality and auditability.
  • Stakeholder Management & Business Partnering
    • Supervisory role that provides direct or indirect leadership for overall project operations, including leadership for operations in which activities are centralized shared resources to execute projects and/or project monitoring activities.
    • Act as key point of contact for GMS leaders, budget holders and finance partners for all financial tracking and reporting queries.
    • Proactively support GMS leadership and budget holders with data-driven insights and recommendations for performance improvement.
    • Build strong working relationships with FP&A, Controllership, IT/Analytics and other enabling functions.
  • Operational Coordination & Governance
    • Coordinate key GMS operating rhythms (weekly/monthly operating reviews, KPI/metrics reviews, project reviews), ensuring consistent financial and operational data is available and action follow-up is maintained.
    • Support governance of GMS initiatives and projects, including financial baselines, progress tracking and post-implementation reviews, and maintain clear documentation of decisions and assumptions.
    • Maintain and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs), templates and instructions related to financial and operational tracking to drive standardisation and process discipline.
    • Accrual oversight, tracking and follow-up.
    • Train GMS budget holders.
  • Continuous Improvement & Compliance
    • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of financial and operational reporting.
    • Ensure adherence to GE HealthCare financial policies, internal controls, and relevant compliance and audit requirements.
    • Support simplification and standardisation initiatives across regions/businesses where GMS is active (incl. training of others).

    Qualifications And Skills Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field (Master’s degree or professional qualification – ACCA, CPA, CMA – is an advantage).
    • Significant relevant experience (typically 5+ years) in Finance, FP&A, Business Controlling, or similar analytical/business support role.
    • Proven experience in designing, implementing or owning financial tracking / reporting tools or dashboards (for example using Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools).
    • Strong financial analysis skills, including variance analysis, forecasting, and scenario modelling.
    • Solid understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and key financial metrics.
    • Demonstrated experience working in a matrixed, multinational environment.
    • Advanced Excel skills; strong proficiency in data handling and reporting (e.g. pivot tables, lookups, data models).
    • Comfortable working with large datasets and multiple data sources.

    • Established project management skills.
    • Strong communication skills (written and verbal); able to create clear, concise reports and presentations.
    • Analytical and curious, with attention to detail while maintaining a view of the bigger picture.
    • Experience in healthcare, services, operations or project-based businesses is an advantage.
    • Experience supporting milestone-based payment structures for projects or customer contracts.
    • Experience with ERP and reporting systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, Power BI or similar) is a plus.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones.
