Job Description Summary
Coordinate and optimise the flow of materials to ensure timely delivery, to not impact production schedules, in line with SQDIP, in that order. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Execute standard operational/technical tasks, to standard work and inline with SOPs. Key components of the role include (but are not restricted to) planning/scheduling – including using production planning tools, resource allocation, monitoring and adjusting work schedules based on labour/asset/material availability, data analysis & problem solving, continuous improvement, communication and collaboration with cross functional teams.

Role Summary/Purpose
This role is an 18-month fixed contract within the SIOP team. As the primary interface between shop operations and the rest of the business, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless communication and execution. You will be the main source of information to the Repair planning leader, providing regular updates and escalating issues as needed. Collaborating with teams to optimise production plans, minimise costs, reduce delinquency and improve TAT all whilst focusing on Customer Delivery.
This position requires strong organisational, problem‑solving, and communication skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and update production schedules, drive adherence and ensure operational alignment with production plans and KPIs.
- Monitor engines, modules and piece parts through each shop visit, ensuring TAT & labour hours are on target and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Highlight instances where daily tasks are not completed on schedule, in line with standard work.
- Generate and distribute gate closure reports. Highlighting any exceptions, aligning them to action owners and verifying these are followed up on, ensuring consistency across product lines.
- Work with support functions on internal and external material commits, highlighting instances where these do not fit the requirement.
- Work with Operations teams to understand labour capacity, ensuring that leave, sickness & training levels support production plans.
- Work with the wider SIOP team on long‑term site capacity planning; labour and tooling.
- Maintain site planning tools and systems including SAP, engine plans, output trackers and automated scheduling tools.
- Conduct twice‑daily production meetings (AM/PM) to ensure you always have the most up to date information, feeding back and escalating to your leader where necessary.
- Work with the maintenance team on scheduling preventative and essential maintenance with minimal disruption to the plan.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and performance.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
- Familiar with engine overhaul processes
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel
- Experienced user of ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
- Highly organised
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
