We are seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to take responsibility for assessing and maintaining testing processes and equipment to ensure the safe operation, quality, and functionality of products within our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will analyze test equipment performance and conduct capacity studies to ensure solutions meet all production requirements. You will work collaboratively with design, production, and quality teams to ensure that test systems and associated equipment entering production are fit for purpose and have undergone the necessary First Time Right (FTR) checks. Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop test plans, procedures, and equipment for manufacturing processes.
- Conduct tests and inspections to ensure products meet quality and performance standards.
- Analyse test data and results to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with TE sustainment, product engineers and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues associated with test equipment and fixtures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Assess technical debt associated with all test equipment, work alongside TE sustainment group to resolve open concerns.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff on testing procedures and equipment.
- Continuously monitor testing processes to enhance product quality and reduce costs.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Analytics and performance assessment of production TE Capability and capacity analysis in line with S&OP demands.
- FTR planning and execution for new test equipment and associated hardware.
- TPM definition and deployment to production and response teams.
- DFT guidance generation.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and equipment.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Background in engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering.
Desirable Characteristics:
- Six Sigma certification (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
