Join Our Team as a Manufacturing Leader in Cheltenham. We are hiring for a highly skilled Manufacturing Leader to join our Military Power team at our Cheltenham facility. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of approximately 25 individuals, overseeing daily operations to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line.

Your leadership will have a direct impact on the quality of our products and the overall success of your team. You will be responsible for managing standard operational and technical tasks, with the flexibility to rearrange tasks as necessary to adapt to changing work situations. Your ability to remain adaptable, efficient, and motivate your team will be essential in maintaining the high standards we uphold.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute Production Plans: Follow instructions and carry out production plans effectively to ensure targets are met.
  • Develop Professional Knowledge: Build a solid understanding of your professional field, which may include specialised support roles or technical expertise in a broad area.
  • Apply Business Knowledge: Use your manufacturing leadership knowledge and experience to motivate your team to contribute to the overall goals.
  • Resolve Issues: Address problems using established procedures, and seek guidance from your supervisor or senior team members for issues beyond defined instructions or parameters.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Work with others to solve problems, develop strong relationships and act as the liaison between the customer and GE.
  • Share information: Be transparent, ask questions and ensure mutual understanding.

This role requires working the following two rotating shift patterns:

  • Shift One: Monday - Thursday: 6:00 AM - 1:30 PM, Friday: 6:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Shift Two: Monday - Thursday: 1:15 PM - 9:15 PM, Friday: 12:45 PM - 5:45 PM

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience in Manufacturing & Production.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Leadership experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Understanding of Lean process methodology and principles.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
