An opportunity has arisen for an experienced System Safety Engineer to join our UK Safety Team.
In this role, you will help bring to market our industry-leading Avionics and Power products by leading and performing system safety assessments across a range of projects. You\’ll develop and execute innovative development strategies and will be a recognised expert within this specialised field, demonstrating a passion for System design and mentoring others.
You\’ll be joining a small team of specialists at varying points in their career which means your work will be dynamic and diverse, keeping your interest ignited. You will play a key role in growing the safety team\’s capabilities and promoting a culture of Safety engagement across the organization, emphasizing shared responsibility in achieving safe designs.
Qualifications/Requirements
You\’re an experienced safety engineer with a background in aviation safety. With a degree in Engineering, or with an equivalent level of relevant experience, you have knowledge of civil certification requirements (e.g. 14CFR-25, CS-25, 14CFR-35 and CS-P) and direct experience performing System Safety engineering tasks using techniques defined in international standards such as SAE International ARP4761, MIL-STD-882, and DEF STAN 00-56.
You demonstrate the ability to conduct detailed Safety analyses of complex Systems, including Fault Tree Analysis, Common Mode Analysis, and generating Safety Requirements to drive the design changes to enable a system to meet its safety objectives.

Desired Characteristics
In addition to the must-haves, there are of course nice-to-haves which we would consider advantageous but not a deal breaker;
- Knowledge of the following: ARP 4754, RTCA DO-178B/C and DO-254
- Knowledge of processes leading to compliance with industry regulatory standards
- Knowledge and experience of performing reliability analyses, Prediction and FMEA, on electronic/electrical systems
- Ability to apply engineering fundamentals and System Safety engineering principles to a variety of product areas
