Job Description Summary
We are recruiting a newly created role for an experienced HR Manager to join the GE Cheltenham HR Team. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced HR professional with generalist experience who is seeking a more HR project and case management focused role. The HR Manager will be responsible for delivering initiatives across the Cheltenham campus, supporting case work and have a small client group. The role is based in Cheltenham with some travel to Southampton.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- A first point of contact for employees & managers who provides leadership, coaching and support for individual employee needs & HR processes for the Southampton & a small Cheltenham client group.
- Travel to the Southampton site as needed to provide on site HR support and build strong relationships with employees and leaders.
- Lead and deliver HR initiatives and projects, such as rolling out new policies, conducting employee training, and supporting site-wide organizational design efforts.
- Manage ad hoc HR project work, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
- Handle complex employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, and dismissals.
- Provide expert guidance and coaching to People Leaders and Investigators throughout the case management process.
- Support the development of our HR Placement students with projects and case management experience.
- Working collaboratively with the other HR Managers across the Cheltenham HR Team as and when required.
Required Qualifications/ Characteristics
- Generalist HR experience with extensive case management experience.
- Ability to travel to the Southampton site on a regular basis.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Experience of comfortably working in fast paced, demanding roles working to tight deadlines in a complex matrixed organisation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in tandem.
- Experience of using and analysing data to create proposals and drive decisions
- Proven great communication skills, engaging with all levels of an organisation.
- Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor\’s degree in HR or Psychology from an accredited university or college with CIPD Level 7 qualification preferable.
