An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Sales Manager - Technical Proposals to join our team in West Drayton, London. In this role you’ll be responsible for leading the technical modeling behind winning sales campaigns for engines and services across Europe and Africa. You will collaborate across Product Lines and our Deal Factory to develop compelling, compliant proposals for engine sales and long‑term service agreements, including innovative £/hr maintenance contracts.
As the Senior Sales Manager - Technical Proposals you will set priorities, manage resources, and orchestrate cross‑functional teams to meet proposal requirements on time and to a high standard—demonstrating accountability for functional, business, and broader company objectives. You will translate complex customer requirements into clear solution architectures, pricing models, and risk mitigations that create differentiated value across the engine lifecycle. You’ll shape win themes early, lead reviews and approvals, and guide proposals from qualification through submission, clarifications, and award.

Essential Responsibilities- Responsible for technical oversight of the New Deal Proposals and on‑time delivery to the deal factory.
- Lead global team to meet New Deal Proposal Timelines / Requirements providing clarification of any issues, corrections, and changes.
- Communicate and provide feedback to the New Deal Proposal Team on presentations, training, tools, Standard Operating Practices, process and correct with owners as needed, and drive consistency.
- Provide guidance to the broader commercial team on technical modeling considerations in developing individual Customized Service Agreements (CSAs), Time and Material Agreements and other services products deal strategy.
- Empower and inspire the broader Global New Deal Technical Modeling team, engaging and stepping in to provide leadership and technical support as needed.
- Support customer negotiations and engagements to develop and model customised services products to meet unique Customer needs.
- Collaborate with product line, marketing and services commercial teams to support market forecasts, new product introduction and product strategy studies.
- Demonstrate principle of LEAN and Flight Deck (GE’s lean operating model) in day‑to‑day work with participation and leading Kaizen and other initiatives in pursuit of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Engineering Fleet model teams especially during the release of new models, to understand and validate the changes to the model before release for usage in commercial underwriting process and communicate the changes to the deal factory teams.
- Significant experience in technical sales, proposals, or solution engineering for complex B2B offerings in aerospace, energy, industrial equipment, defense or other highly regulated engineering sector.
- Demonstrated success leading multi‑million‑pound proposals.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and/or relevant experience.
- Ability to lead end‑to‑end proposal development: qualification, strategy, win themes, pricing, risk review, approvals, and submission.
- Build and manage cross‑functional proposal teams (engineering, commercial finance, legal, compliance, programs).
- Develop compliant, compelling technical and commercial responses to RFPs/RFQs/RFIs.
- Demonstrated financial acumen related to prices, costs and margins.
- Strong oral and written communication, persuasive and presentation skills, including executive‑level communication.
- Strong fleet modeling, Contract Margin Review, and new deal proposal modeling experience.
- Prior experience or working with sales support in Engines / Services, knowledge of related products, services and markets and desire to grow in this area.
- Master’s in business administration, finance or other commercial background.
- Project management experience.
- Ability to identify and lead process automation, machine learning and/or artificial intelligence related projects in the space of technical and financial modeling.
- Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work.
- Strong external focus, keeping abreast of global, geopolitical, and emerging risks.
