Job Description Summary
This is a great opportunity to join GE Aerospace as a Reliability, Maintainability and Testability (RM&T) Engineer. As an RM&T Engineer within the UK Safety team you will perform RM&T Analysis and Assessments for Electrical Power Distribution and Electronic Controller systems and beyond, supporting safety and reliability across the product lifecycle. You will work closely with product development teams to estimate reliability, predict failures, assess test functionality, determine maintainability, and create reliability test plans. The role also offers opportunities for cross‑training in both Safety and RM&T disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Estimate reliability of a system in its intended environment and document results in the reliability assessment report.
- Predict failure modes and analyse their effects in the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
- Assess built‑in test functionality to determine failure detection and isolation likelihood.
- Determine whether the maintainability of a system supports aircraft maintenance requirements.
- Create reliability test plans and procedures, and document testing results.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience in aviation, automotive, or similar embedded systems development environment (e.g., ARP‑4754A, ARP‑4761).
- Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Mathematics, Electronics, Applied Physics or similar.
- Strong understanding of Design for Reliability and life‑cycle engineering.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication and influencing skills.
