Reporting to the Cell Leader in Component Repair weld shop. The ability to weld and braze precision aircraft engine components for engine overhaul, assembly, and test. Work unsupervised while maintaining a safe working environment and producing high quality components.
Responsibilities
- Carry out TIG welding of aircraft engine components to fine tolerance limits.
- Knowledge of brazing procedures.
- Perform a level of mechanical fitting functions.
- Familiar with engineering drawings and OEM technical manuals.
- Use measuring equipment and inspect engine components.
- Precise attention to detail and a high level of concentration.
- Good manual dexterity.
- PC work including working with OEM manuals.
Qualifications
- Time served welder with apprenticeship/qualification essential.
- Experience of working in a welding workshop environment.
- Knowledge or understanding of Local Heat Treat processes would be beneficial, although not essential.
