To organise material within various production hold areas as required. To deliver material to individual work centers within the Gate(s) to ensure the flow of engine and single item components, whilst improving productivity within the production personnel at the individual work centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all duties comply within the facility using GE Aerospace’s Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost (SQDC) principles.
- Transport components and barrows between work centers to maintain constant material flow and achieve target completion dates.
- Control the use of Work in Progress (WIP) lanes, storage areas and kanban systems.
- Use various material handling equipment including powered vehicles.
- Ensure accuracy of part tagging during part movement(s).
- Assist with the supply of engine and consumable material from the stores.
- Liaise with Flow Planner, shop personnel and, if required, Cell Leader.
- Highlight Lean opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
- Stand in for the Flow Planner as required.
