The On Wing Support London Quality Engineer will be responsible for key functional, business, and company objectives and report to the onsite Quality Manager. In this role, you will solve complex issues affecting the business, executing the long-term business plan and driving safety and quality excellence in the organization. You will work with the larger OWS team (including Global Quality), as well as a cross-functional team from other organizations.
Essential responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of UK CAA/EASA & FAA Part 145 and other applicable CAA requirements affecting maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities.
- All Regulatory, Customer and Supplier audit requirements are satisfied.
- Ability to work within and support a documented Management System (QMS & SMS).
- Must perform work in compliance with written operating and functional procedures or defined processes authorized for the role.
- Ability to support regulatory agency and customer audits and participate in assessments of MRO facilities for compliance with local and GE Aerospace quality system requirements.
- Perform internal audits locally and at remote locations.
- Conduct Quality and Human Factor training for all staff.
- Ability to contribute to continual improvement, use assessment results and data analysis, and run/support corrective action activity.
- Ability to communicate quality issues and ensure the importance of meeting customer and regulatory requirements is understood.
- Understanding of product audits/configuration audits as independent verification that process controls and product acceptance plans are effective.
- Drive quality excellence, regulatory compliance, and a strong safety and quality culture across the site.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent technical degree.
- Experience in the Quality and Compliance roles.
- Experience working with aviation regulatory agencies.
- Qualified Auditor or Auditing Experience.
