We have a great opportunity for a Lead Quality Engineer to join our busy supplier team in Cheltenham. In this role you would manage a portfolio of suppliers driving best quality and implementing the quality plan.

In addition you would select suppliers through our qualification processes, own the supplier results and drive improvements utilising supplier scorecards. To ensure best quality and compliance you would perform supplier audits and drive improvement plans where needed., * Management of a portfolio of suppliers (both original equipment and aftermarket suppliers).

  • Supplier audit, oversight and approval (including supplier disapproval).

  • Supplier Corrective Action management.

  • Supplier performance monitoring & coaching, including escalation activities such as Supplier QIP (Quality Improvement Plan) management.

  • Supporting the value streams within the business in the event of a supplier spill or escape.

  • Utilisation of technical expertise to interpret technical specifications.

  • Application of analytical thinking to solve problems.

  • May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to support arriving at decisions.

  • Relevant experience and knowledge from either an Aerospace, Automotive or similar manufacturing sector company is preferred.

  • Strong communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate, drive improvement and achieve results in a challenging environment.

  • Drivers License – as regular supplier visits will be required.

  • Desired Characteristics.

  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experience is strongly desired, though not essential.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Established project management skills.
