During a time of exciting and continued growth, we are looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to join our dynamic team, onsite at our cutting-edge manufacturing site in Brockworth, near Gloucester. At Dowty we believe in enabling people to be the best that they can be at work. Our mission of propelling sustainable flight is achieved by delivering excellence to our customers and each other, and HR plays a key role in achieving this.
As HR Business Partner for the Global Operations function, you'll provide strategic and operational HR leadership across a complex manufacturing environment, also serving as HR Manager of record for the Brockworth Operations team. You'll partner with site and business leadership to drive engagement and growth, lead union relations, and ensure that HR strategy and standard work — including crisis management, compliance and regulatory training — support strong performance and culture across Dowty's manufacturing plants.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Act as Sr HR Business Partner for a client group of circa 400 employees globally, serving as HR Manager of record for 250 of those employees, and provide coaching, organizational design and workforce planning support directly to site leadership.
- Lead union and employee relations strategy for the Brockworth plant, including pay negotiations, grievances and contract interpretation.
- Own functional-level organizational design, workforce planning and change management, partnering with client managers to build and transition to effective organizational structures.
- Lead succession planning and talent development, identifying critical roles and building talent pipelines through coaching, mentoring and career development.
- Drive strategies to attract, engage and retain diverse talent, and help embed a contemporary “One Dowty” culture aligned with GE Aerospace's values.
- Ensure high-quality execution of HR operating rhythms — talent review, salary planning, performance management and promotions — and timely input of metrics into business-level reviews (e.g. WORs, MORs).
- Own Brockworth's HR standard work for crisis management, compliance and regulatory training, including annual audits.
- Use people data and analytics to connect HR practices to business outcomes and inform decision-making.
- Drive process optimization and the adoption of automation and AI in standard HR work to improve productivity.
- Collaborate across a highly matrixed global HR team to build effective cross-functional relationships.
- Act as both an employee advocate and a business partner, balancing compliance and labor regulation with pragmatic, credible business delivery.
Required Qualifications
This role requires advanced experience in the Human Resources & Employee Human Resource Management at Senior level. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
Desired Characteristics
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

- Considerable employee relations experience, including partnering with trade unions.
- Experience working in a matrixed global organization.
- Passion for simplifying and automating transactional HR work.
- Workday experience is a plus.
