In the 12-month Electrical & Electronic Engineering Placement, you\’ll gain invaluable skills and experience in covering all aspects of electrical and electronic engineering.

Roles And Responsibilities
In the 12-month Electrical & Electronic Engineering Placement, you\\\’ll gain invaluable skills and experience within the Test System Department or Electronic Hardware Department.
- Test System Department: designs and develops state of the art custom test hardware and software, test harnesses and documentation for all up-and-coming avionics products. Works with third party manufacturing houses to produce TE to requirements. Designs and manufactures test boxes, breakout boxes and test cables to support NPI development.
- Electronic Hardware Department: apply digital and analogue knowledge to active projects and gain experience in design and development activities related to power distribution and control products.
You will be guided by structured goals and objectives and will have responsibility to deliver on inspiring projects supported by your People Leader and team. You will receive coaching and mentoring and opportunities to connect with other placement students across the UK. These opportunities are offered at our Cheltenham site.
Location
With over 1,600 employees, Cheltenham is one of the largest GE Aerospace sites outside the USA and a major contributor to the local economy. Our Cheltenham site focuses on the design, development and manufacture of state-of-the-art aircraft power distribution and avionics systems. Our customers include all major aerospace manufacturers supporting commercial, business jet and military applications.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Currently studying an Electrical/Electronic Engineering related Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s degree
- On course to achieve 2:1 degree or above
- Penultimate year of study and returning to education post placement
