We are seeking an Electronic/Electrical Hardware Engineer who thrives on making a strong personal contribution and who is motivated to help make the organisation a little better every day. You want to deliver – for our customers, for the business and for yourself. We have an opportunity to join our Civil Product Support Engineering Team, supporting the delivery and repair of Power products to a range of customers in the Civil sector.
As a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, you would join our team in Cheltenham, solving problems and driving improvements to our products. You’ll be a self-starter, enjoy working with others or on your own initiative and always seeking to be forward thinking going the extra mile to help us maintain our excellent performance. You’ll also be keen to grow and to seek out new challenges and knowledge whilst in turn gaining more responsibility and seniority.
Having experience working with complex electronics to component level, you will support post design activities on our Civil Power portfolio and in the future have access/opportunities to support any product within the Cheltenham post design and in service environment. You will resolve technical/engineering issues to ensure output and product performance targets are achieved in the MRO and in service. Management of change is a key part of the role. You will be able to analyse problems to root cause, and drive corrective actions as required. You will manage obsolescence issues, including re‑design, risk analysis, cost, last‑time‑buy, documentation configuration and customer approval.
Operating within the strict regulatory regimes of the aviation industry, you will ensure compliance with Aviation technical standard orders (TSO). You will maintain the aircraft system configuration by analysing and amending the directory of documents that go into the structure of our declarations of performance. With time and experience, you will be coached through attaining airworthiness authorisations to be able to approve the release of products and in turn also open doors to more senior positions in the team.
Working effectively with multiple departments throughout the business will be key to success and you will build relationships with colleagues across supply chain and quality to act as a link between them and the engineering community.
