The Global On Wing Support EHS Leader will be responsible for standardizing an EHS strategy, including risk reduction, ergonomics, compliance, hazardous waste management, etc., aligned with business culture, division, and Value Stream priorities across all On Wing Support (OWS) Facilities. This person will follow an individual leader standard work and meet day-to-day short-term objectives. The role requires the ability to resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning and to project-plan long-term initiatives. Positive working relationships with technicians, support staff, and customers are critical. The Global EHS Leader will be accountable for EHS compliance requirements and will foster a culture of open reporting and continuous improvement of safety at OWS sites and the Field Work, maintaining a safe physical and psychological environment, including the physical layout of the work area and ergonomic considerations. GE On Wing Support operates 24/7/365 and applicants must be willing to support calls during off-hours in emergencies. Remote work arrangement is available.
Responsibilities
- Manage the standardization of EHS policies, procedures and protocols across OWS.
- Lead and coach the Global OWS EHS community and stakeholders on all aspects of the FLIGHT DECK operating system, including KPIs, problem solving, and a culture of continuous improvement across OWS globally.
- Create strategy for employee engagement in EHS, including frequent safety discussions with the team.
- Support EHS Framework (FW) strategy and assist FW Element Owners with scoring and implementation.
- Identify safety issues, work with the team to pursue solutions, and escalate to leadership as required.
- Drive investigations and read-across activity; develop and maintain event analysis (incident investigation) processes.
- Manage and support EHS training curriculum and completion.
- Develop and maintain Management of Change (MOC) processes related to EHS and facilities and routinely evaluate effectiveness.
- Standardize site Hazard Heat Maps and supporting Strength of Defense matrices; update regularly based on event analysis and learnings across OWS and ATMRO.
- Know and identify regulatory requirements and responsibilities related to EHS and Facilities.
- Actively participate in and lead risk assessments with cross-functional teams.
- Perform site and field-level audits and inspections aligned with EHS and Facilities Management Systems.
- Review contractor/vendor pre-work and ongoing activities and provide oversight of contractor work (including maintain ComplyWorks).
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of advanced Environmental, Health & Safety experience (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4+ years of advanced Environmental, Health & Safety experience).

Pay & Benefits
The base pay range for this position is $137,000 - $190,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by factors including experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on the plan.
