The team coach is a critical support team member who must demonstrate the capability to collaborate with at least one team. In this role you will work within defined parameters to exhibit the aptitude to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. It is expected that you learn to operate in a teaming environment and show the ability to adapt to leadership behaviours of teaming.
Job Responsibilities
- Be actively involved in day-to-day tasks working alongside warehouse team in support of customer requirements. 70/30 split with 70% tasks and 30% coaching.
- Empower team to set goals aligned with the business and coach the team on how to hold themselves accountable to achieve goals.
- Collaborate with teams to establish clear boundaries and increasing levels of authority.
- Collaborate with other team coaches to share best practices and resources as required.
- Provide teams with tools required to improve processes to meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Facilitate challenging situations within the team and help the team acknowledge when an issue is bigger than the team.
- Partner with the team as needed in scheduling resources, technical leadership, and the flow of hardware to meet customer requirements.
- Assist other coaches with overall decision making in areas of process improvement and/or production.
- Support assigned team on process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve inventory turns and reduce manufacturing losses.
- Perform administrative duties to support the business, including holiday planning, overtime review/recommendations, EHS checks and quality requirements.
- Coordinate all first line activities to assure the meeting of production schedules and customer satisfaction, cost goals and maintaining the highest standards of quality.
- Work with team and business leader in developing effective working practices by ensuring individual contribution from all team members.
- Work with employees to resolve issues and concerns ensuring a fair and consistent application of company and departmental policies.
- Analyze and diagnose machine and tooling problems and take corrective measures to minimize downtime and interruption of schedules.
- Encourage team to achieve highest safety levels in the plant.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Further education or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Experience in operations/supply chain.
- Prior experience with regulatory agencies, knowledge of requirements of a quality management system.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and motivate employees and/or teams through commitment to meeting customer and organisation demands.
- Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control.
- Proactive self-starter with a can-do attitude.
- Good communicator with time management and prioritisation skills.
- High level of attention to detail and experienced problem-solving approach.
- High level of energy, drive and commitment.
Desired Characteristics
- Working knowledge of material handling requirements including ESD, HazMat, MSD.
- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of aerospace material handling and controls.
- Working knowledge of both ERP and MRP systems.
- Customer focused and comfortable working with people at all levels.
- IT literate with confident use of PC packages, experienced in use of planning systems.
