We are seeking an Electronic Hardware Engineer who thrives on making a strong personal contribution and who is motivated to help make the organisation a little better every day. You want to deliver for our customers, for the business, and for yourself. We have an opportunity to join our Production Support Team supporting the delivery of display and controller products to a diverse range of customers in both the civil and military sectors. As a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, you would join our team in Cheltenham solving problems and driving display improvements to our products. The self-starter enjoys working with others or on your own initiative and is always seeking to be forward-thinking and going the extra mile to help us maintain our excellent performance. You will also be keen to grow and to seek out new challenges and knowledge whilst gaining responsibility and seniority.

Job Description Responsibilities:

  • Support the manufacturing cell with technical/engineering queries to ensure production output targets are achieved.
  • Use of FRACAS tools to monitor test performance of all nominated products in the manufacturing cell.
  • Run product health analysis on high priority products, understand root cause, and drive changes where appropriate.
  • Identify process improvement and cost-out opportunities in support of the product through production.
  • Lead root cause corrective action investigations on units which have failed in production or customer returns.
  • Diagnosis of failures to component level is required.
  • Ensure any trends are captured and analysed to drive product improvements.
  • Provide feedback to the customer within agreed timescales.
  • Assessment and disposition of non-conformances and approval of them where appropriate.
  • Support the introduction of new products into volume production ensuring that the product and processes are ready.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Qualified to HNC or above in an electronic discipline or equivalent relevant level of experience and knowledge.
  • Experience in developing and executing process improvements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholder requirements at once.
  • Experience in implementing root cause corrective action.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative to proactively manage projects/tasks.
  • Demonstrated fault diagnostic skills to component level.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
