Technical leadership responsibility for delivery and industrialization of projects in a cutting-edge R&D environment, operating within TRL/NPI framework. Key role in decision making and forming site strategy; a significant member of the Site Senior Leadership Team.

Using established problem-solving tools, support the engineering team to methodically consider different approaches to problem solve and achieve customer-focused success. The role requires high levels of operational/engineering judgment and structured problem solving within an operating model. You will be leading functional and/or project teams with the opportunity to present solutions to site leaders and the wider GE stakeholder community including engineering and Product Line. This diverse leadership role requires strong effective communication of complex problems.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead the onsite BRS Engineering Team to innovate and deliver customer-led projects within agreed timelines, leveraging Flight Deck and always in the framework of Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost, in that order.
  • Manage team performance through development plans, PPG, dynamic priorities and annual performance reviews.
  • Hold specialized knowledge in a relevant discipline serving as best practice/quality resource, for example, systems engineering. Have awareness of the latest technical developments in your area.
  • Develop and industrialise visual management methodology for NPI process.
  • Lead in technical decision making and key support role in local strategy deployment, being a key member of the Site Senior Leadership Team.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and able to explain difficult or sensitive information.
  • Support in resource allocation, understanding skill requirements and gaps for project deliverables. Use gap analysis to develop training pathways for individuals and the team.
  • Support the BRS Senior Leader Team in stakeholder management to build consensus among customer and engineering teams including collaborative problem solving.
Desired Characteristics
  • Technical Aerospace Experience in Commercial Engines or similar/relevant technical background.
  • Leadership experience in cross-functional/horizontal matrix or Operations environment.
  • Leadership experience leading medium-sized teams of salaried Engineering and Technical professionals.
  • Experience in Structured Problem Solving & Daily Management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver programs/projects.
  • Engineering Degree to Masters Level or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Strong systems or mechanical design experience.
