Croydon High School is seeking an accomplished and enthusiastic Teacher of English to join a well-resourced and vibrant department on a part-time basis. As a Teacher of English, you will play a central role in delivering an outstanding education, inspiring in students a lifelong love of literature and the English language. Beyond the classroom, you will contribute to a rich and varied extracurricular programme that reflects the department’s passion for language and literature. Activities include ‘Word of Mouth’ poetry events, Debating and School Magazine Clubs, alongside opportunities to engage with the English Media Centre. The department also enhances its academic provision through theatre visits, educational trips, poetry workshops and university lectures for A Level students.
The successful candidate will be a highly skilled teacher with experience of teaching English and the ability to teach confidently up to KS5. You will demonstrate effective behaviour management skills, strong subject knowledge and a flexible approach to teaching that meets the needs of all learners.
