We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑oriented Facilities Officer to join our friendly and well‑established team of five. As one of two Facilities Officers reporting to the Senior Facilities Officer, you will play a vital role in all aspects of site security and maintenance, ensuring that the school remains safe, secure, and well‑maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors in line with our service standards.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in a similar role, ideally within an educational or hospitality environment. You will hold relevant facilities‑related qualifications, including IOSHH and MIDAS (or be willing to undertake these). As the role includes occasional driving of the school minibus, you must be a confident driver with a clean licence. If you do not hold a D1 licence, we will support you through MIDAS training.

We would be particularly interested in hearing from candidates with practical skills in caretaking, plumbing, carpentry/joinery, painting, or IEE wiring regulations. However, there are opportunities to attend relevant courses as part of our commitment to continuous professional development.

Flexibility is essential to support our busy lettings programme, and as this is a physically active role across a wide campus, you will need to be able to meet the physical demands of the position.

Nottingham Girls’ High School is part of the Girls' Day School Trust (GDST), an independent girls’ day school known for academic excellence, strong pastoral care, and a broad range of co‑curricular opportunities. We are easily accessible via major city routes including the A52 and A60, with a tram stop less than a 10‑minute walk away.

As part of the GDST, we offer a generous package of benefits, including:

  • Competitive terms, conditions, and salary progression
  • Membership of the GDST flexible pension scheme - up to a 12% contribution match.
  • Extensive professional development opportunities and training grants
  • Free life assurance
  • 30 days holidays plus bank holidays
  • 36-hour working week
  • Employee Assistance Programme (Wisdom Health Assured)
  • Up to 50% discount on fees for children attending GDST schools
  • Free lunch for all staff during term time
  • Interest‑free loans for training and computer purchases
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Good transport links and discounted on‑site parking

As this is an urgent to fill vacancy, there is no closing date. We will invite applicants who meet our requirements to interview on a rolling basis, until such time as we are able to appoint someone suitable.
