The Role
We are seeking an organised, proactive, and personable individual to join us as Junior School Secretary at Wimbledon High School. This is an exciting opportunity for both recent graduates looking to start their administrative career and experienced administrators seeking a new challenge in a dynamic school environment.
The successful candidate will work as part of the front of house team as a first point of contact within the Junior School, greeting visitors and responding to telephone and email enquiries in a professional and welcoming manner.
A key aspect of the role is providing administrative and organisational support to the Junior Leadership Team. The postholder will work closely with senior colleagues to organise meetings, prepare paperwork, and take notes or minutes as required. They will also work in collaboration with relevant staff to coordinate extra-curricular clubs and wraparound care each term, ensuring smooth administration and clear communication.
The role also involves covering for members of the administrative team, supporting the organisation of school events such as parent evenings, and attending meetings as required.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and time-management skills, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities. A high level of discretion and confidentiality is essential alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms. Experience with school MIS systems would be advantageous; however, training will be provided.
