Weekend Duty Manager

Competitive Salary Plus Benefits

Part-time (approximately 12 hours per week)

Permanent

Required As Soon As Possible

South Hampstead High School is seeking a proactive, practical and customer-focused professional to take responsibility for the safe, secure and efficient operation of our Senior School site at weekends.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in facilities, premises, site or venue operations who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and ensuring high standards are maintained in a busy environment.

About The Role

As the senior operational representative on site at weekends, you will take responsibility for the smooth running of our weekend lettings and events. You will be the main point of contact for external hirers, coordinate reception, premises and other staff, and ensure the school provides a safe, secure and welcoming environment.

From preparing facilities for use and overseeing site security to coordinating maintenance, monitoring health and safety and responding to unexpected situations, you will play a key role in ensuring the site operates efficiently and professionally.

The role requires someone who can work confidently with limited supervision, exercise sound judgement and take the initiative to resolve operational issues as they arise.

About You

You will have experience in facilities management, premises management, site operations, venue management or a similar operational role, with the confidence to take responsibility for a site independently.

You will be practical, organised and solutions-focused, with strong communication and customer service skills. You will be comfortable coordinating colleagues and contractors, managing competing priorities and building positive relationships with external hirers.

Experience of maintenance coordination, health and safety procedures, fire safety and responding to operational issues is essential to success in this role. A First Aid at Work qualification is desirable, or you should be willing to obtain one. NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent health and safety qualifications, Fire Warden certification and experience in an educational or campus environment would also be advantageous.

Working hours

The role will primarily be based across Saturdays and Sundays, with an anticipated average of approximately 12 hours per week initially. Hours will vary according to the school's lettings, events and operational requirements, so flexibility is essential. There may be opportunities for hours to increase as weekend activity develops.

This permanent, part-time opportunity may particularly suit an experienced professional seeking a flexible working pattern alongside other commitments.

About The School

Working at South Hampstead is stimulating, challenging and fun. Located in leafy Hampstead, with the buzz of central London’s cultural life close at hand, the school is very well served by public transport and there are excellent local amenities nearby.
