The Role

Croydon High School is looking to appoint an exceptional Double Bass Visiting Music Teacher to join our vibrant and ambitious Music Department. You will deliver weekly 30‑minute individual lessons to pupils across the Junior and Senior Schools, teaching from beginner to diploma level. Music plays a significant role in school life, with a rich co‑curricular programme including orchestras, chamber ensembles, choirs and major annual productions.

In addition to one‑to‑one tuition, there may be opportunities to coach string ensembles, support performances and prepare pupils for graded examinations. You will play an important part in encouraging pupils to perform, develop resilience and strive for musical excellence within a supportive and high‑achieving environment.

About You

You will hold a degree or diploma in Music and demonstrate strong professional performance ability alongside proven teaching expertise. An effective communicator with excellent organisational skills, you will be confident working with pupils of varying ages and abilities and committed to maintaining high safeguarding and professional standards. You must be registered as self‑employed and hold (or be willing to obtain) a DBS Update Service subscription.
