Hours: 14.4 per week (Weekday shifts of 7.2 hrs between 07.00am to 07.00pm, with early and late shift patterns; additional hours outside core times and on weekends may be required)
Salary: £27,171 - £30,720 per annum (£14.51 - £16.41 per hour). Pro‑rated for 14.4 hours: £10,868 - £12,288 per annum, depending on experience.
Annual leave: 30 days pro‑rated.
We are seeking a proactive and committed Caretaker to join our Facilities Team, supporting the safe, smooth and efficient operation of our vibrant and dynamic school. This role offers the chance to make a visible difference every day, with varied responsibilities and ongoing training.
Key Responsibilities- Maintaining site security and access control systems
- Carrying out routine inspections and planned preventative maintenance
- Supporting with emergency repairs and ensuring safe operation of plant and services
- Monitoring the site for developing hazards or deterioration
- Preparing spaces and facilities for events, exams, performances and lettings
- Supporting cleaning and grounds teams to uphold high standards across the site
- Practical experience in premises maintenance and basic trade skills (e.g. plumbing, joinery, electrics)
- A strong understanding of site safety and a commitment to safeguarding
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A flexible, ‘can‑do’ approach with a high level of reliability
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional, approachable manner
